The Cook County Health Foundation is excited to announce its newest initiative with Cook County Health. The Community Murals Project will create original, health-themed murals in seventeen health system locations in the next four years. Each mural will be designed by a local artist with the input of health care providers, patients, and community members. The murals will be created on special material to be mounted on designated walls at the sites. Patients, health care providers and community members will help paint the murals under each artist’s direction.
The Foundation is funding the first four murals to be mounted at Stroger Hospital, Provident Hospital, Blue Island Health Center and North Riverside Health Center. The goal is to complete these murals by the end of 2022.
Local mural artists are invited to apply for the opportunity to design a mural. The application is due by August 28, 2022. Please see the link below.
We look forward to this collaborative community arts project and the wonderful murals the community will soon be able to enjoy at the sites.
