The Foundation’s Annual Gala – The Future is Bright: Moving Toward Equity and
Excellence – on October 12, 2022 welcomed more than 425 guests to the Regency
Ballroom at the Hyatt Regency Chicago. The event grossed nearly $500,000 thanks to
the generosity of sponsors and donors. Event proceeds benefit the Provident
Scholarship Fund which provides scholarships for students from communities of color
and other underrepresented groups seeking careers in Allied Health. This year’s
proceeds will help the Foundation fund up to thirty scholarships.
The Lead Sponsor for the Gala was PNC Bank, and Scott Swanson, President, PNC
Illinois, was honored for his civic engagement and commitment to community. A
highlight of the evening was remarks by Shanissa Johnson, a current scholarship
recipient, who is studying to become a radiology technician. She stated that the
scholarship made it possible for her to go to school and to not have major debt. She will
complete her training in August and hopes to seek further training and education in
radiology in the future.

to recognize the hard work put in by the Gala Committee: Co-chairs Lori Montana and
James Otto, and Committee members Gerald Haberkorn, Marissa Gaines, Verlon
Johnson, Sreenivas Reddy, MD, Derek Robinson, MD, and Danielle Stilz. Their efforts
resulted in a wonderful event.
