The Provident Scholarship is Seeking its Fourth Group of Scholars for the 2025 Application Period.

We are proud to announce the launch of the fourth year of the Provident Scholarship Fund. This fund builds on Provident Hospital’s rich history, dating back to founder Dr. Daniel Hale Williams, to uplift and support diversity in healthcare. The Fund was established through a partnership between Cook County Health, the Cook County Health Foundation and Cook County Offices under the President. Since the inception of the Provident Scholarship Fund in 2022, just under $3 million has been awarded to
nearly 200 scholars.    

The 2025 Provident Scholarship application period opens on Friday, April 18th and closes on Sunday, May 18th .

The Provident Scholarship Programs
The Health Professionals Scholarship provides scholarships to medical students and students in graduate-level clinical and behavioral health academic programs. The Health Professionals Scholarship will support awardees who are from, and dedicated to serving, underrepresented communities in Cook County. Students are eligible for an award of up to $20,000.

The Allied Health Scholarship provides awards to individuals pursuing allied health careers such as: nursing, behavioral health, and students in select qualified certification programs. The Allied Health Scholarship will support awardees who are from, and dedicated to serving, underrepresented communities in Cook County. Students are eligible for an award of up to $10,000.
